Antique Victorian Locket - Etruscan Revival - Tintypes Under Glass - Gold Gilt - 1860s to 1870s

An antique Victorian Etruscan revival locket. It is a gold gilt over metal.
The front of the locket has beautiful granular type work. Also on the front,
there is a seashell. I am not sure when the seashell was put there, but it
seems to be very firmly attached. So maybe a memento of a trip of the
couple pictured inside the locket. Two fabulous old tintypes or photos
under glass are inside the locket. Initials are engraved on the back.
Beautiful decorative bale. The locket opens and closes properly.
It dates to the 1860s.

Measurements:
1 1/4 by 1" without the decorative bale
1 3/4" in length with the decorative bale

Condition:
---Wear to the gold gilt finish.
---Some dark spots and overall discoloration.
---Surface scratches

Small Antique Victorian Cameo Pin

This is a small antique Victorian cameo brooch. It was made to look like a
lava cameo, but it is made of an early type of plastic or rubber. I am unsure
of the exact material, as I have never run across it before. The color is a dusty
rose pink and the profile is done in a very high relief. The setting is a dark gold
brassy tone. There is a simple C clasp with a tube type hinge. The pin stem
extends past the actual brooch. Very old piece. The pin is C1860.

Measurements:
1" by 3/4"

Condition:
---The setting shows some wear.
---Someone has scraped a small section of the back of the cameo.
(I presume to test the material.)

Large Antique Victorian Faux Tortoise Shell Angel Locket - Tintypes

Large Antique Victorian Faux Tortoise Shell Angel Locket - Tintypes

First and most important! This is no perfect angel! This locket has damage
and I feel this locket SHOULD NOT BE WORN! It is more for the serious
collector. For restoration. To be studied or displayed.

Even with it's damage, it is a very rare example of Victorian jewelry C1860.
This is a large faux tortoise shell antique locket. It has a high relief angel or
cupid on the front. Tintypes inside. Please look at all of the photos in the
listing to see the condition. Be sure and click on the larger views. I have
combined some photos so you can see every possible angle of this locket.

IMPORTANT about Condition:
The back has major loss. The front has cracks and two small circles. The
original glass and rims are still in place and there are two fabulous Victorian
tintypes of ladies still inside. One glass and frame will not stay in place
when opened because of the crack. BUT the locket opens and closes.
Stays closed when shut.

Measurements:
2 1/8" tall...this includes the bale
1 3/8" wide
1/2" from the back of the locket to the top of the angel

Small Antique 14K Gold Victorian Locket

Very small and dainty antique 14K gold Victorian locket. Unmarked, but acid tested by jeweler. It has a beautiful repousse scroll designed frame and bale. The front and back have an engine turned design. One side has a blank cartouche for initials. (It opens on this side. Just pry open with your fingernail.) It appears that it once had an additional cover on the inside. There is still a hinge there. This little locket dates to around 1840 to 1850.

Measurements:
3/4" in diameter
1 1/2" in length (which includes the loop)

Weight:
7.1 grams

Condition:
---Some tiny dings in the cartouche area.
